Evergreen has a great heritage. But we believe that even greater days are before us. For this, we have set forth a three stage strategy. At present, we are in the second stage of this vision to move forward.
Vision Process
Stage 1 – What We Have
Stage 2 – What We Need
This is divided into two sections … what we need in regards to facilities & what we need in regard to our organization (how we organize to do what we need to get done)
These areas overlap but are also distinct
Stage 3 – Getting It Done (in the future)
As part of Stage ONE, we acquired around 8 acres of the woods behind us. This area has already been worked on for recreational access: We have a one-half mile trail, We have access to the historical cemetery in the back of the lot, We are working on a open field multi-use area in the middle. Here is a snap shot of our property. About half of the wooded area behind the church was acquired during this process. This survey does not include the small plot across the street (an area we use for overflow parking and for Christmas lights!)
Let’s look at the two parts of stage two …
2A – What We Need: Facilities
Evaluating vision, needs, ministries, etc. Propose a vision for facility (new and/or remodel.)
This is done through surveys, interviews, etc.
There will be a thorough evaluation of other facilities.
2B – What We Need: Organizational
Evaluating vision, needs, ministries, etc. Recommendations for Constitution & By-Laws.
Through surveys, interviews, etc.
Through evaluation of other organizations and studies.
Propose positions, ministries, organizations … through addition and deletion. Suggest to 2A what would be needed to meet such needs.
We are getting ready to initiate Stage Three -A on getting it done on the facilities.
It is an exciting time to be at Evergreen.
